Soop Cemetery is one of many HAUNTED MICHIGAN CEMETERIES, complete with ghost voices, and apparitions.  Michigan Ghost hunters search here for electronic voice phenomena, or EVPS.  This cemetery is famous for  real ghost sightings.   Ghost photos frequently show ecto and orbs, and other curious phenomena.

SOOP  CEMETERY

This one is an experience every time we go.  There are some who say it is the most active cemetery in the state of Michigan!  We agree that it is very active, but that statement has been made about a lot of cemeteries in this state.  And every one of them has it's fair share of stories and sightings.  Soop has quite a history behind it, NOT including being the spot where an infamous serial murderer supposedly left his victim.  That is in Denton Township, not here. The cemetery with a connection to the Serial Murderer is Clark Cemetery and you have to go to that page to read it.  Soop is a very old cemetery, with stones that date back as far as the late 1700's.  It was originally named after the founding family in the area, and has a different name now.  There has long been a rumor that a witch  is buried here,

and that she practiced the Black Arts. Her descendants will agree that she may have been a witch, but more along the lines of being a midwife,

or a healer, but can find no evidence of an evil side to the lady.

With that rumor more or less squelched, it does NOT mean this place is not active!   To the contrary!!

Hoo boy.

Apparitions have been seen, even partial ones, especially in the back.   There is a young girl with long blonde hair

and a white dress, who runs past the gate on the side of the cemetery, by the bushes, which are no longer there.   She has still been seen, although she has changed the area she wanders in.

EVPs

You may have to listen very carefully, even backing it up and playing it over a few times to really hear them.

This EVP is a young girl whispering to us, which we heard in a particular area, every time we returned to that area.

This EVP is a child's voice, we heard her several times, but only captured her once on tape.  "You can hear me?"

This EVP is a pretty eerie sound to hear out in the middle of a dark cemetery at midnight.   What do you think he is saying?

This EVP sounds to us like she is telling us her name is 'Jemima'. Does it sound like that to you?

In this EVP, this man is actually growling words at us.  Listen carefully.

Nice ecto, at the T, near where the tall man walks.  Touch the photo and see big red energy spot, there is nothing here at all that glows or reflects red in any way.

This is a spot people are really nervous about.  You are watched, and spoken to, sometimes followed as you go under these trees.  The feeling is that of a young woman, jeans and tee shirt kind of girl.  Harmless, but strong energy.

Here, we think we have captured her in her spot.

See the tall monument, the tree next to it, and she stands next to it. 

I have cropped the section and lightened it.  She always appears to be holding something,

as she does here.

This is inside the apparition spot, near the big tree.  Touch the photo and see what the entrance to this special spot looks like in the middle of the night.  Are we nuts?   Here is an orb in the spot next to another tree the young girl shows up at.

This is also inside the apparition spot, off the road, looking through the trees. She has two spots she traditionally shows up in back here.  To the left of the orb, is the other spot where she appears.  Touch the photo and see  the orb in the very spot where the apparition photo showed her.  See the monument?  That's it.

Here is some ecto, that showed up at the front gate, near far corner.  Touch the photo and see the same spot, ecto-free.

Here is a great picture of ecto, the strangest ecto I have ever seen.  It showed up like this, swirled around as we stared, and quickly disappeared.

No one was smoking,

It is the real thing. 

There is another young girl, also with long hair, in jeans and a tee shirt, who shows up in the very back holding something in her arms, that looks suspiciously like a baby to those who have seen her.  There is even a phantom pig,

snorting  if you get too close.                

There is a tall sad man in a black frock coat, tall black hat and black boots, who walks up the path from the back, by the gardener's shed, only to disappear about fifteen feet from the gateway.  And not to forget,

the great swirls of ecto that suddenly appear out of nowhere, and disappear just as quickly.  

A faint orb.  Touch the photo and see a seriously bright orb just to the side of Apparition Lane.  This is as close as I felt comfortable.

This is in the very back, very near the spot where the apparition of a young girl holding something in her arms has been seen, frequently.  In fact, the bright orb on the tree is just above the spot.  Touch the photo and see the view of this long dark lane from a break in the trees, where it is a lot less scary. This apparition has also been seen by the bendy tree to the right.

Big bright orb by a tree where we get a lot of whispers.  Touch the photo and see a couple of faint orbs in the evening, just after it got seriously dark.

Here is an orb, laying low.  The bright spot to the right is a street sign, an arrow pointing out a curve with a tree in front of it.  Touch the photo and see the same monument from a different angle.

Here is a nice big orb.  I took this shot after we were in this spot, where we all got a Big Case of the Tingles.  Yikes.  Touch the photo and see the same spot from a little further away.  A couple orbs and a bug, the tiny weird shaped light at the top.

I can't get away from that monument spot, and the orb that won't leave it alone.  Touch the photo and see a bunch of orbs on the so-called 'Witchy' side. 

Here is another view of the Apparition Lane, and an orb near her spot.  Touch the photo and see a big bright orb by another whispering spot.

This is a lot closer to the sign with the arrow, which you can see at the right.  Couple nice moving orbs.  Touch the photo and see another shot of Apparition Lane.  I was hoping to catch her again, maybe a little clearer.

Here is a good bright orb trying to hide in a tree.  Touch the photo and see the entranceway where the young girl in a white dress used to run across.  There were two big bushes here, where the yellow poles are, but when they took them down, the girl left this spot, according to witnesses, and is now running in a different area.

This is on the path that the Tall Man walks.  To the left, is the very back, and behind me, is the gate where he disappears.  Touch the photo and see a small bright orb in a tree.

These are two orb photos.

Take a close look at this orb, it is morphing into something, we think.  We see what we think is a winglike area on top.  Touch the photo and see the famous 'Witch's Grave'.
