My name is Neva Magusin and I am what people call a 'sensitive'. I seem to have always

had this ability. As a small child, I was able to tell, often days in advance, when someone special was coming to our house, even if I did not know them. I knew who was on the phone before it rang and I often had tea parties and conversations with ghosts who just

'dropped in'.

As I grew older, I lived in fear of the dark, because that was when I saw people's faces in my room. I heard their voices and slept with a radio under my pillow for years, trying to block them out. I slept with the closet light on till I was about seventeen. I have been married for twenty five years and I still sleep with a night light. There is nothing in the world like being awakened to see a face hovering over you in the dark or having hands grab your ankles while you are asleep. I saw them all over the place, in the store, on the street, in my friend's homes. My family rolled their eyes a lot at me, having a great deal of difficulty believing me.

I have seen psychiatrists and counselors and I bless the one who told my daughter, who was fourteen at the time, that there are people who have this ability and they are not crazy, just different. I joined a group a few years ago, in an effort to understand a little better what was going on. I succeeded and, even though I am often still a little afraid, have gotten a handle on my fear and learned that the dead are just people without bodies, often behaving as they did in life.

Every day and every investigation, teaches me a little bit more about the spirit world.

"The only real experts are the dead."

We are eager to do as much as we can to help us all to better understand the unseen,

and often frightening, world around us.

Once a very devoted Atheist, Shawn has since learned that there is more to life then what we see with our physical eyes. Since being hospitalized with a traumatic head injury, Shawn was blessed with the gift of sensitivity. He happened to stumble across this gift while at a friend's house one evening. His friends basically stated that they were having some paranormal problems at their home and that they contacted a paranormal research group. Shawn, being the skeptic that he was, wanted to go check it out for himself before the group got to his friends home. Venturing down stairs of the home he had the feeling that something was not right with the home. Knowing that his Aunt had dabbled with the paranormal, he contacted her about going with him. That evening, Shawn experienced something that he had never thought possible. He had encountered his first spiritual being. After the experience, Shawn went upstairs and told his friends what he had felt and saw and to let him know EXACTLY what this group had come up with. Sure enough, Neva Magusin had described the ghost that Shawn had seen right down to a T. It was then that Shawn opened his spiritual eyes and soon experience after experience began to happen to him, From recording EVP's to capturing entities on film, Shawn has become quite an investigator over the last couple of years even going so far as to taking skeptics much like how he was into the field, so to speak, and bringing them back as believers. Since this all has happened, Shawn has spoken with Neva Magusin at length about his experiences and decided that together that they should start S.E.M.P.S.I.

Lt Levi Blue is his wrestling name, but he goes by simply Shawn, when he is ghosthunting. A founding member of SEMPSI, he is an invaluable member, having devoted many hours of research into the nature of ghosts.

This is my husband, Tom. He thinks he is a brick, LOL.

He says he doesn't see anything, and I believe him,

but I don't believe he can't feel the presence of spirits around him.

Everytime we hear something, or feel something near us, he is already looking in that direction.

He asked jokingly for some chestnuts from a nearby tree, the branches too high for us

to reach. Immediately, eight chestnuts fell at his feet. That was the beginning of his belief.

Later on, we both heard a young female voice speak out loud in our room.

When he could not think of any logical explanation for the voice, he calmly turned around,

answered the young lady's question and went on his way.

He cannot go with us all the time, but we love it when he can.

He is a valued member of the group.

Donna is one of the sensitives of the group. She has the ability to sense the

presence of spirits, to hear them and occasionally she sees them as well.

Her abilities are honed by the fact that she has lived in a haunted

(very haunted)

home her whole life.

She will be telling us more about herself shortly.

Tim is a very active member of our group, our computer and electronics 'geek'.

He qualifies as our 'Brick' right now, but we have a feeling that won't be true too much longer.

Anyone who hangs around with 'Sensitives',

doesn't stay 'INsensitive' for long.

We will be hearing a little more about him later also.

Dawn is the most fearless member of our group, eager to march into the

scariest spots and hidey-holes, looking for and daring the unknown to show itself.

It will, one day.

Till then, she is the one we call on when we cannot take one step deeper, when the hair on our arms is vibrating and our teeth are chattering.

Chris is a man with a quest for paranormal knowledge. He asks more questions than I do,

and knows how to lighten the mood of a room with his quick wit.

Goggle men. Sheesh.

He loves to examine his pictures at every opportunity.

Above is an example of what we are likely to see, whenever we turn around in the dark.

Yikes.

Tim is the other computer geek of our group. He also moonlights as a Stormchaser,

with all the equipment and the truck that goes with it.

Very cool.

Beth is new at this also, and very brave considering some of the things we ask her to do.

In the name of science, you understand.

Like standing in certain places to see if a spirit will touch her, Yikes, or to step inside a

small pantry to see what she feels or hears.

A very brave soul and valued member.

Liz is my daughter, who sometimes goes out with us. She has inherited an ability, but is still

in denial over it. Whenever I hear or see something, I turn my head and she is

already looking in that direction.

She has an interest in the paranormal and has taken some very interesting photos, somehow

knowing just where to shoot.

Leslie is the newest member of our group. A Hunter-in-Training, if you will.

During her first venture out with us, she showed a great ability to walk in our footsteps,

almost before we were finished making them.

In the photo above, she is learning to take a photo behind herself.

We are working on that, LOL.

All kidding aside, Leslie is another valued member of the group.
